The port that serves you also in winter.

Icebreaking in the Vaasa port basin is handled by Vaasan Hinaus Oy. Despite a solid ice cover, vessel traffic to the port runs smoothly throughout the year. The Finnish Transport Agency and state icebreakers provide icebreaking services for the fairway to the Port of Vaasa. Daily liner traffic contributes to the maintenance of the fairway in winter. In the port basin, the ice situation is typically quite good, and condensate water discharged into the port basin usually keeps the Rein’s quay and passenger quay free of ice. If necessary, icebreaking from the quay must be ordered at least 2 hours before the ship arrives. The ship’s departure must also be reported 2 hours in advance if the vessel needs icebreaking services.
